Rannenberg

Prof. Dr. Kai Rannenberg

Prof. Dr. Kai Rannenberg, Goethe University Frankfurt, holds the Chair for Mobile Business & Multilateral Security since 2002 and currently is coordinating the CyberSec4Europe project. Dr Kai Rannenberg has extensive experience in Systems Security, Personal Security Devices and Privacy Technologies, and in chairing several SDO working groups. Kai Rannenberg’s research interests include mobile and embedded systems and multilateral security. Also, privacy and identity management, especially attribute based authorisation, communication infrastructures and devices, security and privacy standardisation.

Emil-Lupu

Prof. Emil Lupu

Prof. Emil Lupu, Imperial College London leads the Resilient Information Systems Security (RISS) Group in the Department of Computing at Imperial College London and is a Security Science Fellow with Imperial’s Institute for Security Science and Technology. His research interests focus on the cybersecurity and resilience of systems including their physical, digital and human characteristics and their ability to continue operating even when they have been partially compromised.

Dr. Cade Wells

Dr. Cade Wells is a Business Development Manager with CENSIS, the Innovation Centre for sensing, imaging and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies in UK. In his role he leads activities in IoT Cyber Security and Resilience. He is Chartered Engineer with over 20 years’ experience in the research and development of embedded systems. Before joining CENSIS, Cade founded and ran an engineering consultancy providing technical and business services to organisations developing electronic products and undertook forensic engineering investigations of electrical and electronic systems. He was also the Engineering Development Manager of a Scottish start-up, successfully developing and bringing to market its first innovative imaging product.

Elena Ferrari

Prof. Dr. Elena Ferrari

Prof. Dr. Elena Ferrari is a full professor of Computer Science at the University of Insubria, Italy where she leads the STRICT SociaLab. She is an IEEE and ACM Fellow and one of the most successful female technical cybersecurity experts in EU. Her scholarly work has received over 12300 citations and recognized with the ACM SACMAT 10-Year Test-of-Time Award (2019), among others. Elena’s research interests are in the broad area of cybersecurity, privacy, and trust. Her research aims at creating technologies enabling efficient and effective data sharing without sacrificing privacy or security. She received her Ph.D degree in Computer Science from the University of Milano in 1998.

Development & Innovation Manager for Orange Romania, part of a global telecom infrastructure operator with a focus on ICT products and services and with a demonstrated interest in building new products related to the cybersecurity domain, for corporate customers, very visible on European Commission with its H2020 project 5G and security applications. Mr. Patachia has 20 years of proven expertise with network technologies, cybersecurity products life cycle management, and scientific projects application.

Dr. Luis Gonçalves

Prof. Dr. Luis Gonçalves, is the Head of CyberSecurity, IT Risk & Compliance at Banco de Portugal and Founder of Cloud Security Alliance Portugal. He also develops its teaching activities on artificial intelligence as an invited professor at the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, as well as executive board advisor for several international companies.

Arthur van der Wees

Arthur van der Wees is senior attorney at law, standardization and policy expert worldwide with in-depth experience of technology, cyber-physical systems, data, security & global business. He is managing director of Arthur’s Legal, Strategies & Systems, an international strategic law firm, and founding member of the Alliance for IoT Innovation (AIOTI), where he is co-leading the Security in IoT Taskforce and Privacy in IoT Taskforce. He is (co-)author of various publications about innovation, digital transformation, data, Edge, IoT and autonomous systems, security, safety and privacy and trust. He was part of ETSI’s Special Taskforce 547 on Security and Privacy in IoT. He has contributed to several EU and other regulations, standards and policy instruments for the Digital Age. Furthermore he is advisory board member respectively partner in more than 15 European projects where security and IoT are generally part of, including consortium partner of H2020 project CONCORDIA (Strategies, Ethics, Policy & Rule of Law), and board member of several institutes including the Institute for Accountability the Digital Age. He studied and obtained his degree in computer, privacy, intellectual property rights and business law and human rights at Leiden University.

Rafael Aranha is currently the Head of Cybersecurity for REN, the Portuguese energy holding the concession to the country’s two main energy transmission infrastructure networks (electricity and natural gas), where he’s responsible for all IT & OT cybersecurity. He has extensive prior cybersecurity experience applied to multiple sectors including IT infrastructure & Cybersecurity System Architect at Altran, Information Technology Director at Progroup and several network and security management and technical related roles in the Portuguese Army. He holds a master in Telecommunications and electrotechnical engineer (Military Academy, Lisbon, 2014) and a post-graduation in Information System Management (ISCTE Business School, Lisbon, 2010).

Giovanni Maria Riccio

Giovanni Maria Riccio is full professor of comparative law and one of the founders of E-Lex. As a legal professional, he assists national and multinational companies in matters related to technology law (privacy, startups, e-commerce), intellectual property (copyright, competition, trademarks and patents), and art law in both non-judicial and judicial contexts. He serves as a data protection officer (DPO) for public bodies and private companies.

José Ricardo Aquilar

José Ricardo Aguilar is a distinguished legal professional with a strong background in law and corporate law. He graduated in Law and later pursued post-graduate studies in Corporate Law at the University of Coimbra Law Faculty. Since 2002, José has been actively involved in intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer activities at IPN, working closely with technology-based companies. José has been a practicing lawyer under the Portuguese Bar since January 2003, showcasing his expertise in a range of legal matters. In addition to his professional experience, José has been sharing his knowledge as an Invited Lecturer at the University of Coimbra since 2010. He co-teaches IP and technology transfer issues in the Biomedical Pharmacy Degree program, equipping the next generation of professionals with essential legal knowledge in these fields.
